Wow by KmyGraphic This is just like an embossed photo! :wow:

My, they look so happy, together! :iconsmile--plz:

This is Charlie with his wife and dog, I trust? I'm so glad he found happiness, with such a wonderfully-aesthetic woman! :happycry:

Keep up the good work! :iconi-supportplz:

Thank you! Actually the lady is Edna Purviance
who Charlie discovered working in an office.
He hired her as his leading lady although
she had no experience. They worked together for years
and did become romantically involved until Charlie
discovered she had been seeing another man
while he was away.

They remained friends and continued working together
just as they had been. After the Chaplin Studio closed
Chaplin continued to pay all his employees for the rest
of their lives. Edna wrote to Charlie often up until
her passing of cancer in the 1950's. They loved each
other throughout the rest of their lives.Heart

My pleasure! Many thanks for the history lesson! :happybounce:
Even though things didn't work out for Charlie and Edna as a couple (an item, in today's terms), I'm relieved to learn that the pair remained firm friends, for the rest of their lives! :happycry:

Although, back then, she wouldn't have stood much of a chance with cancer! :( Fortunately, if the disease is caught early enough, nowadays, there's a very good chance the patient will survive! How far we've come, concerning medical science! :wow:

One cannot help but ponder what the future has in store, for us all - healthy or no!

Myself I have had one fight with cancer. Thankfully it
hasn't returned in 9 years! Charlie wanted to marry
Edna and I wonder if there wasn't something more
that prevented their marriage. Charlie wasn't one
to be alone himself as Edna well knew!

Having studied his life for years it doesn't seem in his nature
to instantly end a love affair for something he himself was
known to be weak in dealing with.

I sometimes think it is a great blessing that we don't
know what lies ahead. That could be a killer of all hope
and that would make life far less worth living it seems.Heart

OUCH! :( My mother is battling breast cancer at present. Fortunately, they caught hers before it spread! :phew: That being said, I'm also glad that you're a survivor! :w00t:

Here's hoping your good fortune will continue! :fingerscrossed:

Hmm... You may have a point, there! Whatever it was that prevented Charlie and Edna from marrying, it must have been quite serious! :O Sadly, we may never know the whole story...

That is true. :( For instance, poor Einstein discovered the atom - only to watch in stunned silence, as the devil's handiwork used it to destroy others! :nuu:

That being said, there are times I'm glad I don't know what's in store for us, in the future... I couldn't bear seeing good things used for evil! :ohmygod: That would be rather too painful!

Oh no! That would be so upsetting! :O I can only imagine poor Albert Einstein, as he realised the damage his peaceful atoms were wreaking on others! :ohmygod:

To be sure, it would have broken this pacifist's heart! :heartbreaker:

When man tries to play God it never ends well.
Some of the stupid ideas and actual attempts
to alter what is already in it's perfect, natural
state is a waste of intelligence I think.

If we would use that energy for good,
something as simple as food and housing
and medical care the amount of good done
could be immense! Love
